Grad Photo Schedule 2025 (February 17-20)

Hello members of the Carbonear Collegiate Learning Community: This is a friendly reminder for families of Grade 12 students that Grad Photos will take place this week, February 17 to February 20.  Please note that each student has been assigned a specific session time. Term Two - Family-Teacher Meetings

The following are important updates for the week ahead: February 3rd to February 7th, 2025. (1) Term Two reports will be released on Tuesday, February 4th via PowerSchool. Paper copies are available upon request. Please email carbonearcollegiateoffice@gmail.com to request a paper copy. (2) Family-Teacher Meetings will take place on Thursday, February 6th in the school gym. As in November 2024, we will be using the school appointments online system for family members to book meetings. Booking opened this afternoon at 3:00 PM and will remain open until 11:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4. 1st Annual Brandon Parrott Memorial Winter Classic Basketball Tournament

This coming weekend, January 10th-12th, Carbonear Collegiate will be hosting the 1st Annual Brandon Parrott Memorial Winter Classic Basketball Tournament here in our home gymnasium! Brandon was a former Carbonear Collegiate Sentinel who excelled at Basketball, along with many other sports here in our school. He was a great ambassador for athletics in our community, being the only student here at Carbonear Collegiate to ever win SSNL Provincial Male Athlete of the year, he will be greatly missed by all friends and family he impacted. Please come out and support our Senior Boys Basketball team as they compete at this event in his honor! Volunteers are welcomed and donations in his memory will be accepted all weekend. First game is Friday at 5:30pm vs Baccalieu Collegiate....Let's go, Sentinels!

Family-Teacher Information

Family-Teacher Information Student Reports will be made available to students and family members via the PowerSchool Portal on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 19. Paper copies of reports are available upon request. Family-Teacher Meetings will be held in-person on Thursday, November 21 in the school gymnasium. This will be a half day for students and they will be dismissed at 12:20 pm. Family-Teacher Meetings are organized in two sessions: Session One: 1:30 - 3:30 pm Session Two: 4:30 - 6:30 pm Family members are required to pre-book appointments with teachers using the online School Appointments website . The system will be open to accept appointments starting at 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 17. All appointments must be booked prior to 10:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, when the booking system will close. Instructions on how to use this website to book appointments are included below. School Startup Information for September 2024

1) Tuesday, September 3: Admin Day for Teachers only 2) Bussing:  Check out the following links to access information about bussing: Bus Routes School Transportation Portal My Bus Planner Portal 3) First Day for Students - Wednesday, September 4: Session 1: Grade 9 and 10 students (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM)  Session 2: Grade 11 and 12 students (1:00 PM to 3:00 PM) Buses for the afternoon session will begin the run at 12:00 PM. (4 hour delay from the normal route start) A recess break will be provided during both sessions but please note that there will be no cafeteria services so students are asked to bring snacks. Regular cafeteria services will start on Monday, September 9th. 4) Student Materials List: Materials needed in the high school setting are similar to those for junior high. We recommend the regular complement of paper, exercise books, pencils and pens, along with a good scientific calculator. New Student Registration (September 2024)

We will be having a new student registration session on Friday, August 30th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the school. Please note that this registration session is for residents who are new to our catchment area.  Please bring along the following to register your child: Proof of Residence Transcript or Report from Previous School Please note: International student registration will take place at a later date.
