School Startup Information for 2026/2027
** Welcome to the 2026/2027 school year at Carbonear Collegiate! **
Please see the following return to school information:
Thursday, September 3, 2026: New Student Registration from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Please note that this registration is for students who are new to NLSchools (recently moved to Newfoundland and Labrador) or are transferring from another school in the province. This does not include Grade 9 students attending Carbonear Collegiate from one of our feeder schools (Persalvic, Carbonear Academy, or St. Francis).
Please ensure that you bring the following information and documents in order to register:
- Student birth certificate or or other official legal proof of identity/age.
- Proof of physical address such as a utility bill, lease/rental agreement, or another similar document stating your name and the physical address.
- Contact details such as phone numbers and email address for parents or guardians. Please also have information for an emergency contact.
- If you are moving from another school or district, please bring the contact information for the previous school and any transcripts or records forms.

**First Day for Students** - Wednesday, September 9, 2026:
Session 1: Grade 9 and 10 students (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM)
Session 2: Grade 11 and 12 students (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM)
Buses for the afternoon session will begin the run at 12:00 PM. (4 hour delay from the normal route start)
A recess break will be provided during both sessions but please note that there will be no cafeteria services so students are asked to bring snacks. Regular cafeteria services will start on Monday, September 14th.
**Student Materials List:**
Materials needed in the high school setting are similar to those for junior high. We recommend the regular complement of paper, exercise books, pencils and pens. Students are required to have their own scientific calculator. Chromebooks will be used on a daily basis and students are required to bring them every day fully charged and ready for learning.
Thursday, September 10: Regular classes for all students, Day 2 on schedule. No cafeteria services.
** Thursday, September 10: Meet the Teacher Night from 7:00 - 8:30 PM **
Friday, September 11: Regular classes for all students, Day 3 on schedule. No cafeteria services.
Monday, September 14: First day for International Students.
Friday, September 18: Last day to Drop/Add courses for Grades 10-12. Students who wish to add/drop courses must use the drop/add google form (emailed directly to all senior high students).
