Plan for Christmas Week

  Here is the plan for our last week of school before Christmas Break: Monday, December 19: - regular classes - Christmas Turkey Dinner - Cafeteria (Catered by Harbour Breeze - Garry Gosse) Grade 9: 11:45 AM Grade 10 : 12:20 PM Grade 11:  12:50 PM Grade 12: 1:20 PM Tuesday, December 20: - Regular classes for periods A, B and E. - Christmas Coffee House in the gym periods C and D. Wednesday, December 21: - No regular classes - Pancake Breakfast - Christmas activities organized by the student council. - Students Dismissed at 1:00 PM. Tuesday, January 03, 2023: School Reopens for Students and Staff. It will be Day 5 on the schedule.

Term One Reports and Parent - Teacher Meetings

Wednesday, December 7:  Term One reports will be distributed to students at the end of Period 5. Thursday, December 8: Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM. Parent Meetings will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Teachers will meet family members in the gym, no appointments necessary. If your child's teacher is absent on Thursday afternoon or evening, you can setup individual telephone appointments at another time.  Please leave your name at their desk, or email them.

Picture Re-Takes or Missed Pictures - Thursday, December 1

Picture Re-Takes and for students/staff who did not get their picture taken will take place during the morning of Thursday, December 1.

Teacher PL Day - Thursday, November 24

 There will be no school for students on Thursday, November 24, 2022.  This will be a teacher professional learning day.

Labrador Inuit Society and Culture Field Trip

Indigenous singer and musician, Shannon Thunderbird has come from Ontario to NL through a collaborative partnership between NLESD and the Bruneau Centre for Excellence in Choral Music to work with students, teachers, and community. During her stay, she will be offering some wonderful learning opportunities for students throughout the province. Shannon travels the country singing, playing drums and teaching children of all ages about Indigenous culture. There is no cost for schools to participate, but schools are responsible to arrange and pay for their own transportation to and from events. Shannon can take a maximum of 400 students at each event. On Monday, October 24th, 2022 Shannon is coming to the St. John’s area to facilitate learning opportunities for students. These opportunities are outlined below: “ Big Cedar Thunder ” (Grades 9-12) - 1:45 pm at Holy Heart Theatre
