Labrador Inuit Society and Culture Field Trip
Indigenous singer and musician, Shannon Thunderbird has come from Ontario to NL through a collaborative partnership between NLESD and the Bruneau Centre for Excellence in Choral Music to work with students, teachers, and community. During her stay, she will be offering some wonderful learning opportunities for students throughout the province.
Shannon travels the country singing, playing drums and teaching children of all ages about Indigenous culture. There is no cost for schools to participate, but schools are responsible to arrange and pay for their own transportation to and from events. Shannon can take a maximum of 400 students at each event. On Monday, October 24th, 2022 Shannon is coming to the St. John’s area to facilitate learning opportunities for students. These opportunities are outlined below:
“Big Cedar Thunder” (Grades 9-12) - 1:45 pm at Holy Heart Theatre
