 Carbonear Collegiate Terry Fox Walk and Family Meet the Teacher Event


Date: Wednesday, September 27, 2023

Time: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Parking:         Soccer Field / Track area Parking Lot (before 3:15 PM)


On Wednesday, September 27, Carbonear Collegiate will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Walk in support of Cancer Research.  This year we are inviting family members to participate with our students.  After the walk we will then invite parents back to the school for refreshments and have our Meet the Teacher event.


Schedule:


2:00 PM         Terry Fox Walk - Carbonear Recreation Complex - Track

2:45 PM         Students and Family Members return to the school.

  • Family Members to the Gym

  • Students back to class

3:00 PM         Students dismissed

3:10 PM - 4:30 PM Meet the Teacher Event - Gym



Note:  Family Members are free to participate and join at any time, however, we must restrict access to the school parking lot during dismissal. Family members are encouraged to park vehicles in the Carbonear Recreation Complex Soccer Field / Track Area, but can park in the school parking lot after the buses leave around 3:15 PM.

School Startup Information for September 2024

1) Tuesday, September 3: Admin Day for Teachers only 2) Bussing:  Check out the following links to access information about bussing: Bus Routes School Transportation Portal My Bus Planner Portal 3) First Day for Students - Wednesday, September 4: Session 1: Grade 9 and 10 students (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM)  Session 2: Grade 11 and 12 students (1:00 PM to 3:00 PM) Buses for the afternoon session will begin the run at 12:00 PM. (4 hour delay from the normal route start) A recess break will be provided during both sessions but please note that there will be no cafeteria services so students are asked to bring snacks.
